What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM COORDINATOR position at Town of Hope Mills?
- Plans and facilitates a comprehensive list of programs and activities to meet the needs of the community.
- Assist supervisor with development and execution of administrative guidelines, processes, procedures, and policies related to programs and activities.
- Plans and manages all program classes including securing instructors, scheduling, and assigning locations.
- Attract and retain qualified instructors for various programs and activities; Execute instructor contracts as well as memorandums of understanding.
- Monitors as well as maintains all inventory involved with the programs and activities offered by the department.
- Designs, coordinates, and manages marketing and promotions for programs.
- Maintain appropriate web page and social media content for publication; Capture photos and videos of events and programs.
- Develop reports; assist in monitoring the departmental budget by tracking revenues and expenditures; Assist recreation staff with taking payments.
- Implements rules and regulations applicable to programs and services.
- Responds and resolves complaints and other general problems regarding programs and activities under purview of the Program Coordinator; Refer other concerns to appropriate staff member or department.
- Prepares program and activities budget to assist in annual budget preparation.
- Assists in the development and organization of the Summer Camp Programs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Seven (7) Years of experience in coordinating and supervising recreational programs.
- A bachelors degree in Recreation Administration or related field AND Two (2) Years of experience in coordinating and supervising recreational programs
- Community, senior or group recreation a plus.
- Current trends and developments in the field of public recreation.
- Safety precautions and regulations related to recreational programs and activities.
- Use a computer and navigate software program
- Maintain a positive attitude and exceptional customer service skills
- Work independently and as part of a team
- A valid driver's license, as this position requires some driving for events located off-site.
- CPR and First Aid Certification, or able to obtain upon hire.

Overtime Compensation Agreement
Consistent with the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, it is the town’s policy to compensate non-exempt employees for overtime work with compensatory time off or overtime pay. As part of the acceptance of any offer of employment with the Town, employees in non-exempt positions agree to accept, at the discretion of the town, either compensatory time off or overtime pay, as appropriate compensation for overtime work that may be required to perform as an employee of the Town of Hope Mills.

Conditions of Employment
Employment with the Town of Hope Mills is at-will and is conditional meaning it may be contingent upon the completion of pre-employment screenings, to include a drug test, criminal history, verification of education and/or employment and professional references.
Salary : $46,097 - $54,877
