Planning Department & Ideal Candidate: The Planning & Development Department is a small team with a big impact on the future of Johnstown. Your team members focus on working with developers, residents, and the Planning Commission to shape the incoming growth. Though housed in the Planning Department, the Senior GIS Analyst works independently to support almost all Town departments and has excellent communication and organizational skills. They focus on both long- and short-term projects while prioritizing effectively and staying self-motivated.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in ArcGIS Online and ArcPro. They will possess a unique blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and strong experience in complex full-performance statistical and spatial analysis, display location (mapping), producing relevant text, presenting graphics and making recommendations utilizing multiple Geographic Information System software packages and modules and applying analysis to complex situations based upon multiple (3 or more) complex datasets. Finally, the ideal candidate will strongly align with organizations guiding principles of: Teamwork, Innovation, Integrity, Communication, and Service Excellence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, GIS, Geology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Cartography, Landscape Architecture, Remote Sensing or a related field.
- Three (3) years of professional hands-on GIS analyst experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for education requirement.
- Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance may be required in the future.
