Town of Lisbon Public Works Foreman
The Town of Lisbon Public Works is currently seeking a full-time Foreman. The person in this position will performs and supervises all phases of work pertinent to the Public Works Highway Department. Responsible for technical and limited administrative work in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, and associated systems.
Special Requirements Include:
- Thorough knowledge of repair and maintenance of streets, as well as all phases of road construction, storm drainage systems, sewer systems, winter maintenance, and general work pertinent to Public Works activities.
- Considerable knowledge of the proper utilization and capabilities of all equipment and miscellaneous tools of the Public Works Department as well as the ability to operate the same.
- Ability to interpret plans and blueprints of road construction, drainage systems, sewer systems, and general construction.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership traits and principles.
- Ability to produce written progress reports and other written reports as requested by the Public Works Director.
- High School graduate, five years experience in street and road construction with two years experience in a supervisory capacity, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Class A CDL issued by the State of Maine.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and physical, including substance testing required.
The normal schedule for the Public Works Foreman in the spring/summer/early fall is Monday-Thursday 6 am - 4:30 pm. The late fall and winter schedule is Monday-Friday 6 am - 2:30 pm, unless called back for a storm or repair emergency. The pay range for this position starts at $30.63 (plus $0.50 CDL A) per hour depending on experience.
