Assistant Harbormasters
The Town of Mashpee Department of Natural Resources invites applications for part-time Assistant Harbormasters.
This seasonal position works up to 19 hours a week in the shoulder season (late-September through mid-May) and transfers to a full-time position, up to 40 hours a week, including weekends, holidays, and some evenings from mid-May through late-September.
Key Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Experience working in a similar or related position
- Professional boating experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Coast Guard, police or maritime experience
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job
Essential Functions:
- Patrol waterways in Mashpee and enforce all waterways and boating laws
- Write and issue violations and citations as required
- Participate in search and rescue operations on the waterways
- Install, remove, maintain, and clean Aids to Navigation
- Perform vessel pump-out duties
- Operate and tow trailers and vessels
