Teen Venture Summer Camp Counselor
Park & Recreation Department
The Town of Medway and the Parks & Recreation Department seek qualified candidates for the seasonal position of Teen Venture Camp Counselor. This position is thirty-five (35) hours per week and will run from July 1, 2025, through August 8, 2025, with the potential for additional hours in August with the Choate Summer Camp.
Some duties of The Teen Venture Camp Counselor are:
Must attend all preseason training and all days that the program is running.
- Program times: 8:30 am-3:30 pm.
- Consistently communicate with the Camp Director, and parents regarding camper’s daily experiences as well as any other job-related concerns or issues.
- Facilitate friendships between all children.
- Act as a social role model for all children at camp.
- Enforce TEEN VENTURE regulations and policies to assure the safety of all children in attendance.
- Must be able to think quickly, problem solve and stay calm with children as well as their parents.
- Ability to exercise judgment, be decisive, and be creative.
- Assists with field trip organization each day, arrival & departure, bus, and group management.
- Creating fun, educational, and developmentally appropriate activities before and after field trips.
Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be age 18 or older and have experience working with children in grades 5-9.
