What are the responsibilities and job description for the ENGINEERING PROJECT COORDINATOR - $2000 SIGNING BONUS position at Town of Mooresville?
This position requires independence, self-initiative, and program knowledge. Precedent setting situations are referred to higher level supervisors. Guides may include a variety of written manuals and instructions, as well as oral instructions. Sound judgment is required in performing the tasks. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated through observation, conferences, and the quality and effectiveness of work completed.
Screens calls and inquiries; secures information via telephone or personal contact; selects appropriate materials to answer questions; coordinates various schedules for persons and space; transmits information broadly in written and verbal form to organize program activities and events; handles meeting preparations.
Handles routine requests independently including public requests for services by providing information concerning policies, guidelines, etc.
Processes invoices, including payment authorizations for professional services and payment applications for construction projects. Tracks departmental budget and assists with tracking of project budgets and expenditures. Reconciles monthly purchasing card statements (organizes receipts, codes purchases, etc.).
Assists with preparation of PowerPoint presentations, drafts and prepares correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports or other materials using automated word processing systems; reviews work for compliance with instructions, spelling, punctuation and basic grammar; proofreads final proof of materials.
Reviews and verifies records and reports for correct information; processes documents based on review and verification; files and retrieves materials based on limited information and performs periodic follow-up activities.
Requests information using standardized forms; creates forms when needed; compiles information requiring the selection of data from established records or reports. Screens and routes materials according to content of communications; may do research or pull related materials from files.
Assists with tracking and releasing of performance guarantees, tracks and maintains status reports for Town capital improvement projects and private land development permitting.
Coordinates regularly with other departments as needed, including but not limited to Planning and Community Development, Water Resources, Finance and Purchasing.
Assists with reporting for grant compliance and reimbursement requests.
Provides support for department webpage updates, tracks service requests and general inquiries.
Assists the department with contract preparation and other technical reports.
Handles public inquiries and notifications related to projects and coordinates project schedules and other information with Communications specialist as needed. Uses Town GIS to assist customers with water and sewer availability requests.
Graduation from an accredited two-year college or university with a major in business, secretarial science, or related field and three years of administrative support experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
