What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Sports Scorekeeper position at Town of Morrisville?
The athletics division is now looking for part-time scorekeepers to keep score for Boy's Baseball and Girls' Volleyball games and tournaments. Candidates should be energetic and responsible with strong communication skills. Scorekeepers will be hired as either Scorekeeper I or Scorekeeper II, depending on age, skills, knowledge, and experience.
• Keeps score for athletic leagues, keeping a scorebook (paper or electronic) and running a scoreboard;
• Assists in setting up gyms and fields for league play;
• Fills out accident report forms and incident report forms;
• Fills out results forms and playing time sheets;
• Assists with the administration of special events and league-related activities, such as equipment distribution, uniform distribution, and league team placements;
• Communicates issues and problems to Supervisors/Duty Officers and/or full-time Athletic staff,
• Enforces Town of Morrisville policies;
• Provides routine information and answers questions on departmental policies, procedures and services;
• Performs other job-related tasks as required.General knowledge of major sports, particularly baseball and volleyball, and some knowledge of other sports; ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing; ability to read and write handwritten and typewritten materials; ability to use iPad's and other related technology.You must be at least 15 years old in order to apply.
