Job Description
Employees are expected to be able to work a 40-hour Monday through Friday week with minimum interruption through all types of weather. Must be available to work some weekends and holidays. Employment is possible from April through November. Regular working hours are from 6 : 00 am to 2 : 00 pm. Earlier work shift starting times are implemented, 5 : 30 am to 1 : 30 pm, when weather allows.
Duties / Essential Job Functions
Assists with preparing the Ironwood Golf Course for play. Mows course greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Performs specific tasks related to golf course maintenance that include raking bunkers, changing hole locations, hand watering greens, moving tee markers, and blowing debris.
Assists with irrigation repairs, and other general maintenance tasks.
Assists with various landscape maintenance activities such as weeding and watering landscape beds and applying hardwood mulch. Assists with removing, pruning, and planting trees on the course.
Maintains cleanliness and assists in the general repairs of equipment that includes mowers, golf carts, tractors, utility vehicles, and other golf maintenance equipment.
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Must have good common sense and be able to understand and follow instructions and specifications.
Must be responsible and dependable, reporting to work at the required time and maintaining a positive attendance record.
Must be able to work outside for extended periods of time and in all kinds of weather, performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois driver's license.
Desirable Training and Experience
Previous experience in golf maintenance activities is preferred but not required. Preferred age 16 years and older.
There are no benefits for temporary positions.
