Distinguishing Features of Work:
Lifeguards are scheduled 4-6 days per week and will rotate between Karraker and Anderson Aquatic Centers as well as Normal Community and Normal Community West High School Pools. Guarding after-hours private rentals is periodically required. Attendance at weekly in-service training is mandatory.
Examples of Work Performed:
Constantly scan assigned zone of protection to keep swimmers safe
Recognize and respond to emergencies within the 10/20 protection standard and provide care as required by Jeff Ellis & Associates.
Tend to guests with first aid situations
Enforce facility rules and address patrons in a courteous manner
General cleaning, pool maintenance and other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be certified thru the International Lifeguard Training Program (Jeff Ellis & Associates)
Must be dependable and alert
Must work well with a team
Able to work in extreme temperatures
Desirable Experience and Training:
Strong swimming skills. Must be 16 years or older.

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
