What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer - Lifeguard position at Town of Normal?
Lifeguards are scheduled 4-6 days per week and will rotate between Karraker and Anderson Aquatic Centers as well as Normal Community and Normal Community West High School Pools. Guarding after-hours private rentals is periodically required. Attendance at weekly in-service training is mandatory.
-Constantly scan assigned zone of protection to keep swimmers safe
-Recognize and respond to emergencies within the 10/20 protection standard and provide care as required by Jeff Ellis & Associates.
-Tend to guests with first aid situations
-Enforce facility rules and address patrons in a courteous manner
-General cleaning, pool maintenance and other duties as assigned
-Must be certified thru the International Lifeguard Training Program (Jeff Ellis & Associates)
-Must be dependable and alert
-Must work well with a team
-Able to work in extreme temperatures
-Strong swimming skills. Must be 16 years or older.
Salary : $18 - $19
