What are the responsibilities and job description for the Miracle League Baseball Coach position at Town of Normal?
The position will be responsible for supervising/coaching special needs baseball in a team setting. Programs take place on Sundays in the Spring and Early Fall.
Program - Miracle League of Central Illinois
Special Needs Baseball (ages 5-99)
* Junior League
* Senior League
Approx. 2-3 hours weekly x (# of teams coached) - Up to 2
Position Can Be Half Season (April-June or Aug-Sept) or Full Season (April-Sept.)
Duties/Essential Job Functions
-Helping instruct and direct participants with special needs in a baseball sports setting.
-Helping organize batting order
-Helping organize players into the field
-Care of supplies and equipment
-Games are 1 hour long (1 game per week), no practices provided
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
- Therapeutic Recreation Degree or Pursuant (Preferred)
- Previous Sports Knowledge (particularly Baseball/Softball)
- Prior Experience working with Special Needs of various conditions
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $15.00 - $15.75 per hour
Expected hours: 1.5 per week
