JOB CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
The Recreation Instructor is responsible for organizing, leading, and instructing recreational programs and activities for participants of various ages. This position involves creating a safe, enjoyable, and educational environment while ensuring the effective delivery of recreational programs. The Recreation Instructor will work closely with the community, promoting active lifestyles and encouraging participation in recreational activities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- Plans, organizes, and leads recreational programs and activities, including sports, fitness classes, games, and other leisure activities.
- When assigned to Group Fitness : develops choreography and routines and incorporates music.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of participants by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies as necessary.
- Provides instruction and guidance to participants of various skill levels, adapting programs to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
- Maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used properly and safely.
- Promotes participation in recreational activities through community outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts.
- Prepares reports, maintains records, and completes necessary forms related to program attendance, incidents, and other relevant data.
- Fosters a positive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development.
- Collaborates with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program offerings and improve service delivery.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
