- Plans, organizes, and leads recreational programs and activities, including sports, fitness classes, games, and other leisure activities.
- When assigned to Group Fitness: develops choreography and routines and incorporates music.
- Ensures the safety and well-being of participants by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies as necessary.
- Provides instruction and guidance to participants of various skill levels, adapting programs to meet the needs of individuals and groups.
- Maintains equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used properly and safely.
- Promotes participation in recreational activities through community outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts.
- Prepares reports, maintains records, and completes necessary forms related to program attendance, incidents, and other relevant data.
- Fosters a positive environment that encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal development.
- Collaborates with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program offerings and improve service delivery.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- High School Diploma or GED, and at least six (6) months of formal fitness or classroom teaching, or related experience; or, an equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (completed within 30 days of hire date)

- When assigned to Certified or Group Fitness: National Fitness Certification or valid certification for the specific class(es) assigned respectively.
