The Town of Sandwich, MA has an opening for an 18 hr/wk Office Assistant working in the Department of Public Works. Position creates and processes documents, notices, and correspondence. Must be proficient in the use of Excel and have the ability to learn other computer programs. Prepares and submits DOR Fuel Reports. Assists with preparation and submission of payroll and payment vouchers. Maintains accurate records on grants and contracts. Assists in preparing, researching and collecting information as requested by the Office Manager and Director as it relates to DPW and Engineering Department matters. Position responds to public inquiries both on the phone and in person which may involve questions/concerns regarding public roads, road signs, inspections and other DPW related matters. Position generally will work Tuesday – Thursday for a total of 18 hours per week. Candidate must have demonstrated, through their work experience and references, to be organized, articulate, detail-oriented and to have excellent customer service and computer skills.
