$1,000 sign-on bonus available!
We are looking for a Community Response Office that will perform a variety of public safety and animal safety functions, enforce laws governing domestic animals and wildlife, provide traffic safety and enforcement; conduct parking enforcement, perform a variety of professional work in providing visitor services to the public including ranger operations, enforcement of municipal code related to Open Space and Trails, natural resource and wildlife management and will actsas liaison to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Some of the day-to-day duties:
- Responds to emergency calls for the following: ambulance calls, injury traffic accidents, fires, medical emergencies, and other hazards.
- Performs work in carrying out the animal control program
- Monitors and responds to wildlife conflicts; Provides wildlife education and prevention; Enforces wildlife ordinances and manages wildlife closures throughout the town
- Patrols open space properties and recreation trails on foot, bicycle and/or vehicle;
- Issues verbal and written warnings and penalty assessments for violations of Snowmass Village Municipal Code;
- Any combination of experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school and able to complete Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers Academy and Trail Ranger training within one year of appointment
- Some knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the licensing, quarantine, impounding, care, and destruction of dogs and other animals.
- Some knowledge of the care of animals.
- Ability to learn laws pertaining to parking, traffic, domestic animals and wildlife.
- Ability to learn laws and regulations pertaining to open space and trails.
- Ability to present written and oral information.
- Ability to testify in court.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, superiors, and the public
- Valid Colorado Driver's License with excellent past driving record.
- Aged 21 and older
