What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Recreation Program Staff (Seasonal Position) position at Town of Southbridge?
The Town of Southbridge Recreation Department introduces a great opportunity for multiple part-time seasonal Summer Recreation Program Staff.
The Position:
The Summer Recreation Program Staff assist in arts and crafts, sports activities, and field trips. Additionally, these positions set up and takedown activity equipment, assist in inventory of equipment, facilitate small group activities, and all other duties as assigned. It is the Summer Recreation Staff’s responsibility to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. The positions available are part-time, 20 hours weekly, Monday through Friday for a six-week period. These positions are not eligible for benefits. Wage of $15.30 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school or College student; experience working with children; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work in various outdoor summer weather conditions.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Knowledge of arts and crafts and/or sports
- Ability to teach a variety of activities to children of all ages.
- A high level of patience when working with children.
- Ability to perform tasks independently, referring any problems to the Director when needed.
Please note that all applicants under 18 years of age will need to obtain working papers through their school guidance counselor if hired.
