Job Description
The Senior Civil Engineer – Development Review plays a vital role in managing and contributing to various engineering projects within the Town of Timnath. This position requires advanced civil engineering expertise to analyze and interpret complex documents, ensuring compliance with town regulations and standards.
- This includes reviewing engineering plans, traffic impact studies, drainage studies, technical reports, plats, and development plans for accuracy and alignment with established standards.
- The Senior Civil Engineer – Development Review coordinates projects with developers, contractors, other municipalities, districts, and Town staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs or oversees designs of town public works, community development, and public facilities construction projects, including but not limited to: streets, intersections, bike facilities, sidewalks, storm water facilities, water and sewer lines, trails, and park improvements.
- Evaluates proposals for annexation, site planning, plats, subdivision plans, landscape plans, trail plans, grading plans, utility plans, roadway plans, and other land use.
- Interprets, applies, and enforces the provisions of the Town's engineering design standards adhering to applicable Federal, State, and local codes, laws, rules, regulations, specifications, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Recommends governmental measures affecting land use, community facilities, floodplain, and transportation to control and guide community development and urban renewal.
- Coordinates engineering-related activities with other town departments and outside agencies; works closely with other departments in carrying out engineering functions for the town.
- Provides staff support to other town departments as needed and/or directed.
