Position Overview
Parking Supervisor
The Parking Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Town of Vail’s parking structures and facilities, including but not limited to the Ford Park Lot, Soccer Field Lot, Vail Village Parking Structure, Lionshead Parking Structure, Red Sandstone Parking Garage, and other outlying areas.
This role includes hiring, training, and leading staff while ensuring a positive customer experience for all user groups. The Parking Supervisor is also responsible for financial oversight, operational efficiency, and maintaining safety and cleanliness within parking areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the directors and department's policies, procedures and applicable laws.
- Oversees the hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of parking staff.
- Cross-trained in all department positions to effectively support the team.
- Lead by example and foster a customer-first approach.
- Oversees revenue collection, audit cashiers and machines, complete deposits, and prepare financial reports.
- Generate revenue and operational reports for department leadership, Town Council, and other stakeholders.
- Maintains department records, including employee files and operational reports.
- Assists in the development and implementation of department and town policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of parking areas in collaboration with other departments.
- Responsible for documenting incident and damage reports and coordinating drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Responsible for parking equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Coordinates with the Vail Police Department and contracted security to manage event traffic control and enforce parking regulations.
- Assists other departments when needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Effectively addresses concerns and resolves parking issues with a positive and solution-focused approach.
- Assists with preparation of Town of Vail PR statements, and public communications as they relate to parking.
- Effectively handles challenges, even in fast-paced or high-stress situations
- Serve the citizens and guests of the Town of Vail by abiding by all Town of Vail core values.
- Perform job in accordance with all Town of Vail safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to use independent judgement and discretion to perform tasks in routine and non-routine situations.
- Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to apply complex thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with difficult concepts or situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, or via email.
- Comfortable working with diverse audiences, delivering clear and concise information.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to accomplish common goals.
- Ability to use information technology including email, web navigation and Microsoft Suites, and PARC systems.
Education, Experience and Certificates
- Associate's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Beyond basic knowledge of computer skills required.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Requires flagger certification. Training will be provided by Town of Vail.
- Requires drug and alcohol test training. Training will be provided by the Town of Vail.
