Job Description:
This position involves direct supervision and coordination of assigned public works tasks, including determining materials, supplies, and equipment needed for each assignment. The successful candidate will participate in mowing, trimming, mulching, pruning, planting, fertilizing, irrigating, pest control, and other landscape maintenance tasks.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and provides direct supervision of assigned public works tasks.
- Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needed for each assignment.
- Participates in various maintenance activities, including asphalt and concrete repair, street sign fabrication, storm sewer and catch basin maintenance, and collection of yard waste and leaf collection.
- Cordinates training and safety meetings relevant to assigned tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public works and construction methods, as well as extensive knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to operations of motorized equipment.
