DPW Maintenance Operations Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY: Administrative and supervisory work in directing the operations of the grounds, highway, garage, transfer station and cemetery functions of the Public Works Department; all other related work as required. Works under the administrative direction of the Director of Public Works.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs highly responsible duties requiring the exercise of considerable judgment in the planning, inspecting and budgeting of public works projects; schedules and determines the scope of maintenance projects.
• Errors in administrative decisions could result in lower standards of services, sub-standard constructions, and inadequate maintenance programs; errors in supervisory decisions could result in excessive costs for both construction and maintenance programs, and danger to public safety.
