Position Summary
The Skid Steer Operator is responsible for operating the equipped industrial skid steer to move materials and load and unload trucks and trailers. This position is responsible for maintaining the equipment, machines, and electrical components. The Skid Steer Operator is accountable for general maintenance associated with working equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
Essential Duties:
- Moves, controls, and levers devices to drive skid steers to transfer materials and to load and unload trucks and trailers
- Organizes and secures stored materials such as bales, pallets, etc.
- Loads and unloads materials manually, off or on to trucks, trailers, platforms, skids, or lifting devices
- Performs routine pre and post inspections to ensure suitable working nature of the equipment
- Reports any damage to skid steers, faulty equipment, or any other safety hazards
- Consults, works, and coordinates with supervisors, managers, equipment manufactures, and employees regarding unloading and loading operations
- Completes operator training
- Communicates concerns regarding the scheduling of tasks and assignments of daily priorities
- Cleans and does necessary maintenance service for any heavy equipment the employee is operating
- Ensures awareness of, and compliance with, relevant company/customer OSHA requirements
- Carries out verbal/written material tasks under minimum supervision
- Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice

- Operate all tools required on job site or have the ability to learn to operate them
- Verbally communicate with other crew members and fully understand instructions and information
- Have transportation to and from the startup location
- Have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record per Company policy
- Knowledge of essential job functions and responsibilities

- Meet all physical requirements of the position
- Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
- 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required
- Legally authorized to work in the United States Preferred:

- Two (2) or more years of Equipment Operator experience
- Mechanical Training
- DOT Compliance Knowledge
- CDL
