Summary:
The Student Applications Support Specialist will assist the Student Information Team in assisting and supporting the district’s student applications, responding to parent inquiries via the Parent Portal mailboxes and taking a lead role in managing, implementing and supporting a variety of student systems. This roles requires handling confidential information and the strict adherence to data privacy policies and practices as it pertains to student and staff information.
The expectation is that this position is performed on-site/in-person.

Helpdesk / Parent Portal Email Support
Language Skills
Communicates clearly both in oral and written format with all constituents of the District 113 community, especially in providing instructions to users. Effectively present information and respond to questions from constituency groups. This position requires a close working relationship to support both High Schools and the District Office staff and students. Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Communicate with vendors, third-party tech support and other providers and clearly present technology solutions and services to non-technical staff and administrators. Apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Mathematical and Technical Skills
Calculate figures, estimates, proportions, and percentages. Work with mathematical concepts such as averaging, summation, sorting and grouping of like variables in the setup and interpretation of reports. Apply concepts of basic algebra. Strong technology skills, including standard Microsoft Office suite / Google Workspace, and data analysis.
Reasoning Ability
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of verbal and written instructions and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
Contacts Outside Your Own Department:
Build positive relationships with constituents of the District 113 community that includes, teachers, school staff, administrative team, Board of Education, guardians, students, and private providers.
