**Job Overview**
The Township of Harrison is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Township Manager and other department heads.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for residents, assisting with questions and concerns.
- Prepare letters, presentations, and reports for various departments.
- Review and code departmental invoices for accounting processing.
- Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications, bidding, and procurement requirements.
- Perform administrative duties regarding payroll, tracking time off, and overtime.
- Coordinate employee benefits and maintain the Drug and Alcohol program.
- Establish a Township Safety Committee and act as liaison with other departments.
Requirements:
- Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Township policies.
- Ability to carry out complex tasks with accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, organize, and complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Five years of experience in an office setting with increasing levels of responsibility.
