Internship - Public Works - Administrative Project - MS4
Monday - Friday: Flexible Schedule : Up To 40 Hours

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
- MS4 Pond Inspections:
- Inspect ponds and detention structures in accordance with PaDEP MS4 Permit requirements.
- Enter inspection information into Traisr software for accurate documentation of inspections.
- Work with the Director of Planning and Code Enforcement and MS4 Officer to send inspection reports to owners.
- MS4 Outfall Testing:
- Inspect outfall structures in accordance with PaDEP MS4 Permit requirements.
- Enter inspection information into Traisr software for accurate documentation of inspections.
- If outfall fails the inspection, trace source of discharge.
- Work with the MS4 Officer to send educational documents to residents/homeowners on environmental factors affecting water ways.
- Road Sign Diet Study:
- Complete a sign study on each road owned by Pine Township to identify signs that are in need of repairs,or may be confusing.
- Prepare a report of recommendations for submission to the Director of Public Works
- Perform other departmental duties as assigned.

- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines and report any problems, operational issues, facility needs and feedback.
- Attend company meetings and educational seminars.
Requirements:
- Actively enrolled with institutional study for Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Services, Chemistry, Biology, Government or other related fields.
- 0-1 year of experience in related field.
- Child Abuse Clearances as required by State of Pennsylvania.
- (preferred) Active and non-expired Pennsylvania State Driver License with acceptable driver history record.

The specific vision abilities required for this position include close, distance, and peripheral vision abilities. The noise level in this position ranges from moderate to loud. Exposure to outdoor seasonal elements, related temperatures and direct sunlight. Driving an automobile with assignment location change.
Visual Demands: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals.
Environmental Factors: Tasks may require exposure to such environmental conditions as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to use written and oral communication skills; observe and interpret situations; read and interpret information and documents, analyze, assess, and report work assignment difficulties; use math and complete simple mathematical tasks; work with constant interruptions; and interact with Township officials, employees, and the public.
