About the role
Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mount Isa is seeking a dedicated School Officer - Sports Coordinator Assistant. This role is a part time, permanent position. The role will commence as soon as practicable, with the amount of working hours being negotiable.
The School Officer – Sports Coordinator Assistant works under the direction and supervision of a teacher to provide assistance to the Sports Coordinator and lesson support to students participating in the Sports Program.
Typical Duties
The typical duties of the role may include :
a. Assistant to the school Sport's Coordinatorb. Performing administrative tasks in relation to School sports and district sportsc. Performing administrative tasks of record maintenance, sport documentation, student and parent communication and other administrative support.d. Providing support to individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate in learning and school activities
e. Assisting students (either individually or in groups) with specific learning needs including scribing, reading, which may include providing feedback and observations to the classroom teacher(s)
f. Assisting in the support of student engagement by reinforcing appropriate student behaviour
g. Providing practical assistance to students in using classroom technology
h. Performing administrative tasks of record maintenance, producing resources (eg. Printing, laminating etc) and other classroom administrative support
i. Assisting in the maintenance of a clean and tidy classroom environment including storage facilities and assisting in setting up appropriate classroom / learning space
j. Providing routine support to students in relation to their physical needs (eg. mobility support) and personal care (eg. toileting, feeding)
Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
- Current Drivers Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
