What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAE Intern position at Toyoda Gosei North American Corporation?

Toyoda Gosei North America (located in Troy, MI) has an opening for a CAE Engineering Summer Intern. The CAE Engineering Intern will support safety and/or interior-exterior related product development with proper CAE tools. The intern will also involve in other activities such as benchmarking, process improvement, etc.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist / perform safety and interior/exterior related CAE projects and help to improve the current CAE processes
- Create computer models and process the results to learn the standard process of CAE
- Help improve model accuracy, and process automation.
- Work on safety R&D related CAE using LS-DYNA and plastic injection molding manufacturing simulation using Moldex3D
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Minimum of 2 years' undergraduate studies completed, or graduate students
- Coursework towards a Bachelors' Degree in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering or other Engineering related field such as, solid/fluid mechanics, dynamics, strength of materials, etc.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
- Understand the theory and application of finite element method (FEA)
- Experience using CAD software, and Moldex3D / LS-DYNA CAE software tools
- Some computer programming skill is preferred: Python, Scripting
- Excellent organization and communication skills required
- Demonstrated leadership skills. Highly analytical and detail-oriented
