I.    General Summary:  Plan, supervise and coordinate departmental activities in the shipping and receiving of products according to standards and customer specifications in the most economical, safe and efficient manner possible.  Direct departmental functions in support of TBDN Tennessee Company goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

II.    Essential Job Functions:
A.    Plan, organize, direct and control the assigned department operations in accordance with guidelines and schedules set for Shipping.
B.    Maintain and support TBDN Tennessee Company plant policies, regulations, and procedures and ensure proper adherence to them within the assigned area of responsibility.  
C.    Establish a system and standardize for daily management for TL, GL, AM
D.    Develop, train and motivate team members to acquire maximum efficiency, productivity, cooperation and morale.
E.    Maintain knowledge and control over departmental operations to ensure proper work schedules and material flow; proper use of manpower skills, equipment and facilities; proper application of methods and related matters.
F.    Provide instructions, guidance, training and direction to assist subordinates with difficulties and procedural problems.
G.    Coordinate and participate in general administrative and technical programs such as cost reduction, methods, communications, IATF16949, safety and housekeeping and associate training.
H.    Coordinate maintenance, tool repair and engineering assistance as required.
I.    Review shipping issue records and initiate corrective action procedures to address causes. 
Conduct a problem solving to analyze a root cause and develop a system to prevent reoccurrences issue
J.    Participate, plan and coordinate manpower planning and budgets both short and long term, providing cost and cost estimates for use in preparation of budgets.
K.    Collect records and analyze data on shipping, quality, scrap, rework, change overtime, machine downtime, direct and indirect labor.
L.    Ensure safety policy is followed; investigate accidents/near misses, and make reports and corrective action recommendations.
M.    Participate in weekly improvement meetings, coordinate team meetings and departmental meetings related to safety, quality, housekeeping, policies and procedures.
N.    Foster positive associate relations and associate involvement in continuous improvement activities.  
O.    Develop and present training materials as needed.
P.    Administer IATF16949 procedures as they apply within the assigned department.
Q.    Create daily, weekly and monthly production and quality reports; Present to management as required.
R.    Responsible for day-to-day implementation and management of ISO 14001 Environmental Systems procedures and requirements within the functional department. Coordinate with the Environmental/Quality Systems Program Manager to ensure EMS requirements are completed.  
S.    Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, DOT and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
T.    Communicate to customers and logistic companies to manage the shipment schedule when any abnormal situation happens.


            
III.    Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: 
•    A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or related field required, or the equivalent in work experience with progressive responsibility in a manufacturing facility.

Experience:
•    Greater than 6 years of relevant experience required.
•    Greater than 2 years of supervisory experience required.

Personal/Technical Skills:
•    Must be knowledgeable of company products, terminology, design specifications and quality standards. 
•    Working knowledge of automotive industry equipment and production systems.
•    General understanding and practical work experience with manufacturing systems and processes.
•    Requires an understanding of ergonomic principles and safety regulations.  
•    Must possess good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively.
•    Requires the ability to maintain specified records, files and logs and compile data to generate required documents/reports.  
•    Good administrative skills and able to interpret data, make good corrective decisions and follow through.
•    Strong leadership skills and ability.
•    Excellent problem solving and people skills.
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
•    Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving and resolution.
•    Ability work with a dynamic team and demanding customer(s).
•    Ability to plan, supervise, and perform functions of assigned areas.
•    Ability to maintain on call flexibility to control abnormal conditions.
•    Ability to be flexible in a constantly changing production environment.
•    Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team environment. 
•    Ability to speak to groups of people and make presentations to executive groups.
•    Ability to multi-task, handle diversity, and provide leadership through problem resolution.
•    Ability to implement plans to control and maintain safety, quality, 5S, cost, and efficiency for assigned areas.
•    Strong organization, time management, and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
•    Ability to teach group leaders, team leaders, and team members in basic fundamental skills and facilitate Job Instruction Training (JIT).


Language Skills:
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Computer/Software:
•    Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).


IV.    Work Environment/Conditions:

Office:  Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant:  Various types of manufacturing environments.
•    Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level.  
•    PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas.  Personal attire standards may apply.
•    Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.
Travel:  Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear.  The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing and is occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds.
