Toyota Connected has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Agile Delivery Lead to join our expanding team. You will be a true servant leader to a team of highly skilled product and engineering professionals. Your primary role will be helping to build high performing and self-sustaining teams while growing a healthy, collaborative, and continuously improving engineering culture.
Responsibilities:
- Support multiple product/engineering teams in the adoption and effective implementation of Agile principles and practices, seamlessly integrating Agile, Lean, and DevOps into team routines and deliverables with input from all stakeholders.
- Facilitate and promote collaboration and communication between product/engineering team and stakeholders. Influence change impact beyond the team and influence, help develop and communicate across TCNA teams and Toyota stakeholders to achieve department goals and delivery.
- Facilitate multi-team workshops and department-wide events (e.g., Quarterly planning) with support for the team's quality delivery extends beyond their team, aligning and contributing to broader organizational goals.
- Anticipate and address dependencies and potential impediments, such as technical problems, process bottlenecks, or resource constraints, with the team before they block the team's progress, while also championing impediment resolution at the department level.
- Establish and support release planning activities to manage multiple clients.
- Work with senior engineers and Product Manager to set up roadmap, planning and prioritization processes.
- Proactively partners with product leadership and leads creation of multiple team's estimated work, realistic roadmaps, and delivery plans. Leads reporting on delivery progress and risks and escalates and resolves issues as needed across areas departments.
- Leverage risk, issue, dependency, impediment, and other data points to implement a data-driven approach for continuous process improvement within teams. Promote transparency by tracking, visualizing, and reporting on these indicators and the associated improvement trends, empowering teams to actively engage in optimization of their workflow and as it contributes to both product and program outcome delivery.
- Promote a culture of transparency and information-sharing that aligns with the company's values, empowering the team to leverage their expertise and technology to achieve optimal performance while adhering to the department's business model.
- Facilitate and promote collaboration and communication between product/engineering team and stakeholders. Influence change impact beyond the team and influence, help develop and communicate across TCNA departments to achieve department goals and delivery.
- Use experience with agile and delivery practices and knowledge of a team's product and technology to guide product/engineering teams in the adoption the right tools and frameworks based on intended outcomes for optimal delivery and may ensure the effective management of Agile artifacts, including sprints and backlogs, and actively contribute to backlog maintenance activities.
- Use experience with multiple estimation techniques combined with knowledge of a team's product and technology to help the team break down work into manageable tasks, estimate effort, and track progress.
- Effectively utilize CI/CD principles to drive measurable improvements in team metrics, including change lead time, mean time to restore (MTTR), defect rate, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Represent the product/engineering team to senior stakeholders outside the product/department with ability to communicate the product/engineering team's progress and challenges while gathering feedback for improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Agile Delivery Lead or similar roles
- Demonstrates expertise in Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean), technical practices, and the software development lifecycle, effectively solving complex problems and delivering tailored solutions that align with a team's unique requirements
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to align on shared goals, manage expectations and ensure successful delivery of initiatives
- Proficiency in using appropriate tooling to create visuals, dashboards, and reports that foster transparency of product health, impediments, and delivery across teams
- Strong grasp of product management principles and can leverage this expertise to support the product owner in developing a cohesive product strategy across the department, including development of any visuals to support product health, dependency management, and delivery progress
- Data analytics expertise to collect, analyze, and interpret data to drive informed product decisions
- Possesses in-depth product and technology domain knowledge to proactively challenge the team's risk management strategies during work identification and refinement with ability to guide teams in identifying and mitigating upstream and downstream dependencies, fostering a culture of proactive risk management
- Exhibits a deep understanding of how addressing technical debt can minimize failure risk, lower development costs, enhance product quality, and boost agility, enabling organizations to swiftly adapt to market shifts and customer demands
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of technical tools and practices employed across multiple teams to enhance quality, reduce development costs, and accelerate delivery to customers
- Experience effectively encouraging teams to adopt continuous improvement based on real-time observations. (e.g., Version control systems (E.g., Git), CI/CD tools, branching options, test-driven development, etc.)
- Demonstrates advanced problem-solving ability
- Exhibits integrity and high standards in work quality
- Displays care, empathy, and understanding towards team members including valuing diversity and differences amongst individuals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
