Toyota Material Handling's manufacturing facility includes processes for sheet metal cutting and fabrication, steel saw cutting, CNC machining, press brake and hydraulic press forming, manual and robotic MIG welding, resistance welding, powder coating, painting, assembly, and inspection.
About the Job :
The Production Engineering Supervisor is a technically minded, entrepreneurial professional who will lead a team of Production Engineers. The team supports the activities in the plant related to machining and forming processes. This person must be results-oriented and process focused with an approach that is responsive and aligned with company strategies.
What You'll Be Doing :
In this role, you will perform functions including :
- Lead day-to-day activities and project progression of multiple Engineers and Technician level Associates.
- Mentor and develop direct reports following TMH leadership models and practices.
- Proactively identify continuous improvement activities within manufacturing to help our Associates work safely while increasing the quality of our products.
- Engage with stakeholders throughout manufacturing to increase the productivity of operations to deliver Toyota's customer the best value.
- Support organizational initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations while supporting the community within which we live.
- Support engineers to improve problem solving and strategic planning skills.
- Develop a vision and path forward for the area supported by your team, which will allow new technology and automation to increase productivity and capacity to meet future sales forecasts.
- Facilitate lean manufacturing practices within the Toyota Production System to improve material flow and inventory levels to reduce lead-time and improve safety.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
