Your team and your responsibilities
Team description
The Vehicle Performance Engineering division (VPE) is part of the R&D group at Toyota Motor Europe Technical Center in Zaventem, Belgium. Our division is in charge of:
- Identifying market requirements and turning them into development targets for vehicles, down to component level,
- Development of passenger vehicles for the European market,
- Researching state-of-the-art and beyond state-of-the-art technologies for implementation in future vehicles.
Within VPE division, Vehicle Efficiency team is responsible for aerodynamics, aeroacoustics and energy management of the vehicle. Using state-of-the-art experimental and simulation methods, we aim to develop attractive cars and mobility solutions matching European requirements and customer expectations.
Your responsibilities
- You will contribute to aerodynamic, thermal and energy management development of Toyota vehicles in Europe,
- You will define targets considering various factors such as regulations, customer needs and expectations, market trends,
- You will guide design engineers to achieve performance, while meeting quality, cost and feasibility requirements,
- You will lead numerical and physical testing of prototype vehicles for the European market,
- Your will propose, develop and implement new efficient methods of performance prediction and evaluation,
- You will continuously learn state-of-the-art and beyond-state-of-the-art technologies

Your Profile
For TME Graduate positions we are targeting recent University Graduates (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)
- You are fluent in English (verbal/written), additional European language skills are an asset
- You are a career starter (less than 18 months of experience excluding internships)
- You have a master’s degree in engineering (mechanical, automotive, aerospace or similar)
- You have a high interest in cars and mobility solutions
- Specific competencies in programming (Python or other), data science methods, structural CAE or CFD are a strong asset
- You like both simulation activities and real-life hands-on testing
- You are willing to travel and open to a training in Toyota headquarters in Japan
- You have a driving license
