Your team and your responsibilities
Team/division description
In the R&D Group, the Technical Planning & Incubation (TPI) has the mission to pick up key future technologies and to get them included in the internal agenda.
To support the moving towards becoming a Mobility Company, the competencies on handling Big Data is now a key asset and a transversal team lead by TSP has been setup.
Your project
As intern you will be supporting the Big Data team to:
- Develop Data models to handle new data based applications for Future Vehicles
- Develop custom data models, prediction systems and machine learning algorithms for various data projects
- Collaborate with business and IT team to design and develop the end-to-end data analytics solutions/tools
- Present and communicate the outcomes in a clear manner for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Create self-contained documentations and reports for data projects assigned
- Provide support and assist on-demand for governance of the multiple big data analytics projects

Your Profile
- Student in last year of master study (can be PhD), data science, automotive or computer engineering
- Highly skilled in Python
- Excellent profieciency of machine learning techniques and algorithms (ML model develpment lifecycle)
- Experienced in time series data and signal processing
- Experienced working with JupyterHub and Git
- Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL
- Experienced in python-based visualization tools like Dash and Streamlit
- Good knowledge in IT and software development
- Good knowledge and interest in automotive, software, Big Data
- Knowledge in technology, connectivity, digital economy
- Fluent in English (reading; writing; speaking) and flexible team player
- Seek facts before making recommendations or decisions, have strong planning and organizing skills
- Communicate in a clear and timely manner
- Multi-tasking and ability to work in various projects

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
