Your team and your responsibilities
Team/division description
TME's Purchasing plays a key strategic role in the development of our future products. Buyers & Engineers develop and manage all aspects of the relationship between Toyota and its suppliers, located all over Europe. Part of the overall European Purchasing team of approximately 200 people, the Electrical Powertrain Department is responsible for the purchase and preparation of vehicle components for electrical powertrain functions (e.g. Wire Harness, HVAC, Inverter) interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your project
After an integration period to understand our philosophy and internal processes, your contributions will be expected in the following key areas:
Wire Harness Buying Process:
- Support the continuous improvement (Kaizen) of the wire harness purchasing process.
- Identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains.
Economic Database Implementation:
- Assist in the creation and implementation of an economic database.
- Ensure accurate data collection, organization, and accessibility for stakeholders.
Activity Standardization:
- Contribute to the standardization of key activities within the department.
- Develop clear guidelines and procedures to enhance consistency and efficiency.
Electronic Business Continuity Planning:
- Support the development and maintenance of business continuity plans related to electronic components.
- Ensure risk mitigation measures are in place for supply chain disruptions.
This structured approach will allow you to have a tangible impact on our processes and contribute to key strategic initiatives.
Your Profile
- Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or in Business.
- Proficient with Teams, Outlook, Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint,…etc).
- Advanced knowledge of data/reporting tools – knowledge of PowerBI or Excel VBA is a plus
- Highly developed analytical skills, accuracy and reliability, enjoy working with numbers and handling/manipulating multiple data sets
- Can work independently in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Have good communication and presentation skills.

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
