Your team and your responsibilities
Team/division description
As part of R&D organization, the Powertrain Division is responsible for local development of powertrains for vehicles built in one of the production plants, and for planning and research of new European technologies. Latest focus points include electrification, big data and connectivity.
Your project
R&D is building a strong focus on developing & using Big Data techniques. Such kind of Big Data techniques include AI optimization methods. Included in the Connected powertrain department you will:
- Understand, further develop & improve existing Python algorithms.
- Analyse customer driving and charging style and propose scenarios of V2X usage.
- Test methodologies for evaluate impact of V2X usage on durability and propose logics to protect the vehicle
Your Profile
- You are fluent in English (TME’s business language)
- Master of Science or equivalent student (ideally Statistical analysis/data science/ machine learning/ automotive).
- You have a European EEA citizenship. (not requiring a visa to work in Belgium).
- You must be a student for the entire duration of the internship.
- Knowledge in computer programming, big data, machine learning.
- Basic knowledge on V2G/V2H technologies.
- Excellent knowledge of Python & Git.
- Able to summarize and explain complex technical information in a clear and visual way.
- You are a well organized and autonomous mindset person
- Basic skills with Office suite is a must.

Due to business requirement, not all performed projects can be reflected in the internship report. This issue needs to be discussed with candidate/school in advance.
It is mandatory that applicants are students for the entire period of the internship.
We can only accept students with an EEA or Swiss citizenship (not requiring a work permit or visa to be eligible to perform an internship in Belgium)
