TTTX is seeking applicants for an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist position in San Antonio, Texas. TTTX is an on-site partner and tier one supplier for the build of Toyota Tundra and Toyota Sequioa. Summary/Objective:
Assist EHS Department by ensuring that organization complies with environmental, health and safety regulations by developing and implementing policies and programs. This position will be responsible for performing field inspections, designing employee training programs and preparing detailed reports. Our ideal candidate will assist potential risk and implement strategies to prevent accidents, injuries and regulations related to daily plant operations in the areas of Environmental, Health and Safety.
Essential Functions (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring safety of self and others by following all safety policies and procedures and wearing all required PPE.
- Oversee field examinations and report hazardous locations and materials.
- Maintain management information systems that identify the location of hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and complaint investigations.
- Develop and recommend solutions to eliminate pollution and environmental hazards.
- Design and implement effective employee training programs.
- Keep management informed of the findings of all industries assessments.
- Coach employees on proper ways to adjust workstations to meet ergonomic standards.
- Develop and drive activities with focus on key business metrics such as injury avoidance and regulatory compliance, with a strong emphasis on environmental.
- Maintains regulatory postings, i.e. OSHA 300 Log.
- Crease and maintain a safety Dojo, working closely with the training and HR teams.
- Responsible for the administration, maintenance and operation of safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
BS degree in Industrial Safety or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years industrial or manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of US environmental, health and safety regulations.
Independent judgement on problems, identifying alternative solutions project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
Able to create and modify documents in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
