TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private par-70, 7,139-yard course located in Montgomery County, MD, less than 20 miles from the nation’s capital. This championship golf course, formerly known as TPC Avenel, has recently hosted several PGA TOUR events. The golf course enjoyed a historic renovation in 2008 under the direction of PGA TOUR Design Services and the result is a drastically different layout which showcases the natural rolling terrain, bentgrass tees, fairways and greens, fescue grasses, and Scottish-style bunkering.
TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is currently seeking Part-Time Golf Course Ambassador to serve our members and guests.
Job Overview:
As Club Ambassador, you will be the primary monitor of daily activity at TPC Potomac, fostering positive relationships with members, guests, and the community. Your primary responsibility is to ensure exceptional service standards are met consistently during a predetermined circulation around the property.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Golf Course Relations:
- Monitor pace of play as outlined by our Visage GPS tracking system.
- Ensure that consistent order of play is maintained on the golf course and appropriate transportation is recorded as confirmed by the first tee Starter.
- Act as a point of contact for member inquiries, feedback, and requests, promptly addressing concerns and providing solutions.
- Welcome guests warmly and ensure they receive outstanding service throughout their round.
- Assist in the adaptation of weather conditions by carrying cold towels in extreme heat, and enforcing weather delay policies as directed by the Professional Staff.
- Offer impulse merchandise options from the Golf Shop to include, but not limited to golf balls, gloves, headwear, ball markers, towels, etc.
- Be prepared for retrieval of lost items on the golf course such as golf clubs, headcovers, apparel, headwear, etc.
2. Operational Support:
- Maintain presentation of the Short Game Practice Area by removing extraneous golf balls and raking bunkers.
- Monitor the function of all water stations around the property.
- Assist the Food and Beverage department with on-course deliveries and mobile order requests.
- Monitor the golfers at the full swing Practice Facility and Professional Practice Area to ensure all golfers are either members or guests that have a tee time with a member on that same day.
- Assist in executing special events, tournaments, and functions as directed by the Professional Staff or Food and Beverage team.
3. Community Relations:
- Deter pedestrians from the neighborhood that are either walking, running, dog walking, cycling, etc. to maintain the integrity of our private property.
4. Promotion and Marketing:
- Serve as an advocate for the club, promoting member tournaments and social events.
- Assist the membership services team in sharing photos, accomplishments, and highlights on the golf course.

- Proven experience in a customer service or hospitality role, preferably within a luxury resort, country club, or similar setting.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with diverse clientele.
