What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Captain position at TPC Twin Cities?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee banquet events and ensure smooth operations from setup to breakdown
- Coordinate with event planners and clients to understand their needs and preferences
- Supervise banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff
- Train and mentor team members to provide exceptional customer service
- Manage event timelines and ensure all activities are executed according to schedule
- Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during events
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Banquet Captain or Assistant Manager in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of banquet operations, including food production, catering, and shift management
- Familiarity with Aloha POS system or similar point-of-sale software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, staff, and vendors
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a team
Preferred Skills:
- Culinary background or experience working in a kitchen environment is a plus
- Knowledge of food service regulations and best practices
