Champlin's Marina and Resort location on beautiful Block Island is looking for an Accounting Manager!
The Accounting Manager performs on-site hotel accounting functions in an accurate manner and in accordance with accounting policies and procedures. The Accounting Manager ensures internal controls are in place in accordance with company policies and procedures. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management. Reports any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management.
Complies with all guest service basics such as uniforms, name tags and proper guest greeting. Knowledgeable on hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate. Ensures all communication containing Company, hotel, brand and guest information is consistent with privacy policies, practices and regulations. Impresses guests with quality and timely service in a pleasant and friendly manner.

- Review daily reports from Property Management Systems (PMS) ensuring reports are balanced, postings are complete, and all revenue, receivable and cash balances are correct.
- Combine daily PMS closing reports into daily worksheet and enter into the M3 accounting system daily report each morning.
- Verify purchasing policies and procedures are followed, by all department heads i.e. purchase order price compared to invoice price, purchase order quantity compared to invoice quantity, and validity of purchase order number.
- Ensure department checkbook procedures are followed for all property expenditures on a regular basis.
- Route invoices with attached purchase order to management for approval. Ensure account coding is accurate and all invoices are returned in a timely basis.
- Ensure appropriate signatures and back-up is attached. Process all approved invoices for payment by entering into M3 accounting system and submit scheduled check run requests to corporate office.
- Respond promptly to vendor inquiries.
- Maintain open invoices file, paid invoices file and voided check file in an organized and up-to-date manner.
