Overview:
We are seeking a highly professional and personable Valet Attendant to join our team at a vibrant boutique hotel in Washington, D.C. As a Valet Attendant, you will be the first and last point of contact for our guests, ensuring that they receive exceptional service and a seamless experience upon arrival and departure. Key Responsibilities:
Guest Reception & Parking Services:
- Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and welcoming demeanor, offering assistance with unloading luggage and any other needs.
- Efficiently park and retrieve guest vehicles while ensuring the safety and security of their property.
- Provide guests with parking information and updates on hotel parking policies, as well as available alternatives when necessary.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Maintain a positive, friendly attitude at all times, delivering the highest level of customer service.
- Assist guests with directions, transportation requests, or any local recommendations.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests with professionalism and efficiency, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
Vehicle Handling & Safety:
- Drive guest vehicles with care, ensuring that all vehicles are parked securely in designated areas.
- Ensure the security of guest vehicles and personal property by adhering to hotel safety protocols.
- Inspect vehicles for any pre-existing damage and report any issues to management.
Communication & Coordination:
- Communicate effectively with the front desk and other hotel departments to ensure smooth guest arrivals and departures.
- Coordinate with the front desk and concierge to provide valet services for special events, VIP guests, and group bookings.
- Alert management of any operational issues or guest concerns related to parking or valet services.
Maintain Appearance & Cleanliness:
- Ensure the valet area is clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times, creating a positive first impression for guests.
- Keep valet uniforms neat and professional, adhering to hotel standards.
- Regularly inspect and maintain the appearance of vehicles when parking or retrieving them, ensuring they are presented in the best possible condition.
Safety & Security:
- Follow all safety protocols for handling guest vehicles and operating in the valet area.
- Monitor and manage traffic flow around the hotel entrance to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Report any incidents or accidents promptly to management for investigation and resolution.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with luggage handling, if needed, and direct guests to hotel amenities and services.
- Help guests with special requests, such as arranging for taxis, rideshare services, or car detailing.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a valet attendant or in a customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on guest service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of local Washington, D.C. area and directions to popular landmarks, restaurants, and attractions.
- Previous experience working in a boutique hotel or high-end hospitality setting.
$10-$12 per hour plus tips
