Summary: This position is a key contributor in the Human Resource department with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, recruiting and supporting projects and initiatives and assisting with all aspects of Human Resource activities by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to all employees, including face to face communication, friendly service and fast response times.
- Coordinating all activities of payroll including maintaining time and labor system, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll records, and calculating payrolls and managing earnings and deductions according to company policy to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with administering company benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401K, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance programs.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining data accuracy of records in HRIS system and employee personnel files.
- Responsible for posting and communicating updates and information to employees.
- Assisting with recruiting efforts to fill vacant positions by sourcing resumes, screening candidates, scheduling interviews and providing the appropriate follow-up with candidates.
- Providing necessary data and reports from HRIS system to satisfy reporting requirements and assistance with projects and presentations.
- Assisting with welcoming new employees and conducting new employee orientation.
- Advising and assisting management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues, including coaching, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Responding to inquiries from employees regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Maintaining employee personnel files, organizes filing and related information.
- Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensuring policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
- Studying and suggesting ways to standardize procedures to improve efficiency in department operations.
- Assists in training management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment and other topics.
- Assisting with environmental, health and safety compliance, including workers’ compensation management, data entry and coordination of events.
- Responsible for assisting with coordinating company employee events, such as parties and picnics.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in a Human Resource or related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or one plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A HR certification is desirable.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Qualifications: Strong attention to detail, friendly and positive attitude, willingness to tackle new projects and challenges, ability to thrive in a very fast-paced environment and juggle multiple items, ability to work independently, a desire to grow and learn as a human resource professional. Manufacturing experience is also a plus. Previous experience in human resources with a working knowledge of employment laws.
