Kitchen & Dish Area Duties
- Wash dishes, glassware, pots, and pans—either by hand or in the dish machine
- Load/unload the dishwasher safely and efficiently
- Keep the kitchen clean and organized: sweep, mop, and sanitize all areas regularly
- Maintain equipment and workspaces in proper working order
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow sanitation protocols
- Assist in basic food prep: cutting produce, portioning ingredients, prepping sauces and dressings
- Receive and rotate food items using FIFO guidelines
- Stock supplies in proper storage areas and maintain inventory
- Label and store food according to safety standards and allergen compliance
- Keep service lines clean, stocked, and presentable throughout meal service
- Interact with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner
- Act as a greeter or runner during meal times as needed
- Monitor the flow of service and communicate any guest feedback or operational issues to the team
- Follow all health and safety standards (OSHA, Health Dept., etc.)
- Complete temperature, sanitation, and service logs accurately
- Conduct post-service inventory and note any needed restocks or updates
- Prior experience in a high-volume or full-service kitchen
- Great communication and a team-player attitude
- Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and basic food handling
- Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure
- Food Handler’s Certification (required)
- Fast-paced kitchen and café environment
- Exposure to cleaning products, hot equipment, and occasional loud noise
- Requires standing for long periods and the ability to lift 10–50 lbs
- Physical tasks include bending, lifting, reaching, and repetitive motions
