Position Overview:
The Construction Superintendent will oversee and manage daily operations at our construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and site workers.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and stakeholders.
- Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment, and workforce planning.
- Address and resolve any construction-related issues or delays promptly.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and site documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits, and regulations.
- Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving issues that may arise during work between various groups.
- Interact effectively with owners, teams, and other key stakeholders to maintain a positive project environment and exceptional client experience.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with project teams, and subcontractors, and prepare daily field status reports.
- Facilitate pre-construction and special coordination meetings, as well as coordinate the documentation and distribution of meeting notes including action items.
- Assure the development and implementation of Quality control and assurance.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, TRAC workers schedules and status reports including developing and implementing complete project schedules to ensure required dates are met.
- Coordinates and performs the timely completion of all punch lists and develops a schedule as required by the owner for the successful start-up and commission of all systems.
- Assist with identifying potential constructability issues to avoid failures, or liabilities that could be wrongly attributed to TRAC.
- Ultimate accountability for construction schedule.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years as an Assistant Superintendent or similar leadership role in construction.
- Extensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software and project scheduling tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- OSHA 30-HR Construction Certification
- MA Construction Supervisor License (CSL) Unrestricted
Physical Demands:
The Construction Superintendent is regularly required to:
· Walk, climb stairs, sit, and stand.
· Speak and hear at normal levels.
· See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus.
· Reach with hands and arms. Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines.
· Lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
