Job Purpose: Performs both general and cost accounting duties to ensure product standard costs and financial statements are presented accurately. Key individual that collaborates with Sales, Engineering, & Operations with the purpose of identifying opportunities to bring value to the business. This position is key in supporting the continued growth of the organization. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of the business in addition to a deeper understanding of the full responsibilities of the Finance & Accounting department.
Essential Functions:
Develop standard production costs through collaboration with the Sales, Engineering, and Operations departments
Key resource in developing pricing recommendations for both our standard products and new product lines
Advises and implements changes for inventory costing, assisting sales and marketing teams with pricing analysis and product costing
Produce daily reporting and ad-hoc analysis to assist leadership with decision making
Maintains standards (materials, labor, and overhead) in our ERP system (Made2Manage)
Perform the annual cost roll of new labor and overhead rates
Review standard costs, BOM s, and routings on a regular basis and update as appropriate.
Monitor and research variances, identify trends, and recommend actions to leadership
Partner effectively with the Operations team to develop and implement ongoing cost savings strategies, benchmarking and incorporating best-in-class manufacturing strategies
Maintain the accounting for all fixed assets. (Including depreciation expenses, accumulated depreciation and timely entry of all asset additions and disposals)
Support month-end close & annual review
Support the annual planning process
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or MBA preferred
Minimum 3 years cost accounting and/or general accounting experience
Proficient in MS Office applications, Strong Excel skills preferred; advanced skills will set you apart from the competition
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment that is both an industrial and a hi-tech electronics assembly environment
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
