Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
Professional Certifications: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR Compliance-related inquiries from throughout the business.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of business operations to identify areas of non-compliance and potential risks.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant policies and procedures.
- Interact with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and address any inquiries.
- Collaborate with different departments within the organization to address compliance concerns and provide guidance on compliance matters.
- Investigate suspected violations of compliance policies, gather evidence, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Review background screening results, motor vehicle reports, and drug test results to ensure applicants meet company hiring criteria, following up with the applicant and/or vendor to research further, where necessary. Contact the applicant if background check standards are not met to inform them of pre-adverse and appeal process. Interview job applicants and prepare summaries of their statements if they respond to adverse action notifications. Notify management to take adverse action, as needed.
- Retrieve, organize, and transmit personnel file information according to a subpoena, which may include team member job applications, performance appraisals, training histories, counseling forms, separation paperwork, benefit information, leave of absence, workers’ compensation, and payroll information, and other documents. Certify affidavits and interrogatories.
- Receive and prioritize claims, questionnaires, determinations, and other unemployment-related data. Initiate timely telephone calls or emails to internal customers to obtain or pass along needed information. Respond to questions raised by team members. Perform extensive research on the request to locate and collate all requested documents. Ensure utmost quality and timeliness of deliverables to meet state expectations. Schedule witnesses to participate in hearings with the state. Escalate when required. Maintain confidentiality of employee information and adhere to data confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain working knowledge of federal and various state employment and HR-related laws. Monitor and analyze legal changes, then submit recommendations to ensure compliance to the HR Compliance Manager. Communicate HR Compliance-related developments to the appropriate business. Provide guidance in appropriate application of HR policies, processes, and procedures to various departments throughout the business.
- Coordinate process and policy audits leading to best practice operations and cost savings. Challenge processes and/or policies and makes recommendations for process and policy improvement.
- Coordinate labor law poster compliance by coordinating with the vendor, and coordinating updates and audits, where needed. Coordinate employment law compliance related to the employment of minors.
- Perform tasks related to immigration law compliance.
- Serve as first point of contact for handbook and policy updates, coordinating annual review and assembling review timeline.
- Ensure all vendor invoices are paid promptly.
