Storeroom Clerk Level Tool Room

Receives, stores, and issues handtools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment. SAFETY
Must comply with Company safety rules and OSHA standards. Must be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Advocates Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned. Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.

Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory. Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors. Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
Delivers tools or equipment to workers. Marks and identifies tools and equipment.
Make sure tools are sharpened and tool holders in good working condition before being placed back on shelf or in tool drawers. Repair and replace parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain adequate stock.

Check tooling in and out of tool room computer.

Set-up and operate all tool room machines for specific form tool, tap, drills, or holder for grinding.

Make up set up carts, for any machine upon request providing print is given out in sufficient time to prepare said carts. Use tools that are safe and in good repair.

Must be physically able to access and tour all spaces on board vessels and within BAE Systems facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be computer literate and detail oriented. Tool repair experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and other co-workers in both one-on-one and small-group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions provided in written or oral form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to tour all vessels, piers, docks, and work sites.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long durations; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear, and smell. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the environment varies from normal office environment to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high places. The noise level in the shipyard environment is usually loud; office environment is usually low to moderate. The wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment mitigates risks associated with these conditions and is mandatory.
