ABOUT OUR ROLE
Bartenders will assist guests by taking beverage and food orders, serving items, maintaining guest satisfaction, and processing payments.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
- Serve alcoholic beverages and food courses to guests
- Knowledge of liquor, beer, wine and cocktail compositions
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Exceptional customer care and attention to detail
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment including cleaning requirements. Use equipment only as intended.
- Answer questions on alcoholic selections/menus to guests
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in outlet assigned.
- Record transaction in POS system at time of order.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cooking orders, and product availability
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
- Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
- Anticipate and address guests` service needs
- Speak with others using clear and professional language
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- Prior bartending experience in a high-volume or hospitality setting required
- Familiarity with classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits is preferred
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and bar operations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Upselling and suggestive selling skills to maximize guest experience and sales
- Ability to follow recipes
- Speed and precision needed to deliver consistent, high-quality service

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job accidents and injuries, wear protective equipment as required.

- Work hours may include a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shift work as needed.
PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (e.g., cases of beer, liquor boxes)
- Manual dexterity for handling glassware and bar tools
SCHEDULE
Hospitality demands a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as the business requires coverage including seasonality– on any day at any hour, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
