About Our Role
The Accounting Clerk serves as a business support liaison for Trailborn’s West Coast portfolio. This includes daily hotel accounting functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Reconciliation, as well as partnering with the Regional Controller to ensure a timely and accurate financial close in accordance with Trailborn’s Standard Operating Procedures. This position is located onsite at the Trailborn Rocky Mountains, reporting to the West Coast Regional Controller.

About Our Role
The Accounting Clerk serves as a business support liaison for Trailborn’s West Coast portfolio. This position is located onsite at the Trailborn Rocky Mountains, reporting to the West Coast Regional Controller.

FUNCTIONS
- Manage AP cycle for West Coast portfolio, ensuring compliance from time of purchasing through payment of invoice.
- Verify accuracy and consistency in purchase order submission and matching to vendor invoices and statements.
- Reconcile vendor statements weekly and prepare month-end accruals of unprocessed invoices.
- Oversee reconciliation of daily Income Journal, correct and report any errors.
- Verify accuracy of daily cash reporting, prepare and track bank deposits against hotel reporting.
- Work with Front Office and Rooms Management to ensure accurate and timely night audit processes portfolio-wide.
- Assists with audits, tax filing, and other reporting and information requests.
- Maintain a friendly demeanor with peers and supervisors, offering a forward thinking and solution oriented viewpoint.
- Comply with and assist in managing hotel best practices and corporate standard operating procedures.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Passion for hospitality and customer service
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with hospitality team members
- Mathematical skills including basic arithmetic, percentages, and ratios
- An understanding of general accounting concepts is critical for this position.
- Experience with common hospitality systems (Opera, Toast, M3, Profitsword, etc) preferred
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to interact with guests, coworkers and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand, and the Company
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret paperwork and management reports
- Ability to perform critical analysis and manage a wide range of information
Requirements
- Must have the physical ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds of weight between the floor and waist, occasionally from the waist to above the shoulder.
- Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time.
