Where is the work:

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week in Minneapolis, MN. Up to 10% travel anticipated

What you will do:   

People Management:

• Manage direct reports, ensuring they are effectively allocated across various project teams.
• Mentor and supervise team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Ensure that direct reports have the necessary tools, training, and support to succeed in their roles.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports, providing feedback and supporting professional development.

Technical Contribution:

• Develop controller models for system-level control algorithms and logic that provide superior performance, enhance reliability, and diagnostics.
• Identify opportunities to enhance model-based design capabilities, enabling acceleration of value delivery to internal and external customers.
• Work with software development teams to integrate model-generated software into application software.
• Adhere to model development standards and processes.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in control systems and apply relevant knowledge to ongoing projects.

Strategic Planning:

• Assist in planning and road mapping activities for embedded controller development.
• Provide input on project timelines, resource allocation, and technology strategies.
• Support aligning project goals with organizational objectives.
• Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for control systems innovation and continuous improvement.
   

What you will bring: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science required. Other technical degrees may be considered with relevant work experience. Master’s Degree in Control Theory is strongly preferred.
• At least 7 years’ experience in controls, electronics, systems, or software engineering experience is required.
• At least 2 years’ experience leadership, either direct or indirect required.
• Experience with model-based design processes and modeling & simulation of complex systems is required.
• Understanding of control system design. Classical control knowledge required (PID control, linear control, digital filtering). Advanced control knowledge preferred (modern control theory, model predictive control, non-linear control, adaptive control, fuzzy logic).
• Understanding of optimization techniques is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Simulink and Stateflow is required. Proficiency in Azure DevOps is preferred.
• Experience in automating processes is preferred.
• Knowledge in refrigeration, vapor compression, or thermodynamics/fluid dynamics is preferred.
• Knowledge in compressors, engines, or power electronics is preferred.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $114,000 – 150,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
