Job Summary

The Plant Manager for our Fair Lawn, NJ manufacturing facility will plan, organize, staff and direct all production activities of the facility to achieve Plant and Sector goals for safety, quality, growth, productivity, employee engagement. The Plant Manager will also lead production and plant operations to ensure the effective utilization of resources.

Where Is The Work

This position has been designated as On-Site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an 80,000 square foot thermal energy storage equipment facility of 25 – 30 employees.
  • Direct and coordinate all plant production functions including Manufacturing, Materials, Production Control, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Planning, Human Resources, Mfg. Engineering and Environmental, Health & Safety to assure common direction toward plant goals
  • Guide and support the plant EH&S program in improvements, investigations and corrective actions to meet and exceed Federal laws and Trane technology standards and policies
  • Guide and support the plant quality system in procedures and controls to improve overall customer satisfaction, DPPM, first pass yield and warranty results
  • Be proactive and responsive to all facets of customer satisfaction including delivery, schedule changes and special instructions
  • Guide and support plant maintenance, facilities and mfg eng. improvements, process improvements, facility improvements and capital expenditures
  • Guide and support plant resources in meeting material and labor productivity plans
  • Primary point of contact and responsible for site materials management.
  • Responsible for the implementation, support, and compliance of Materials processes and systems to facilitate the fulfillment process from production planning to material procurement and warehousing, through product shipment.
  • Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the ISC organization in order to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, high levels of morale, and high employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the PGT to insure alignment of goals and progress towards them along with short term and long term needs and plans
  • Lead and support the development of production employees and plant succession planning activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline is required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in manufacturing operations required and a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing/plant operations leadership role, preferably as Plant Manager of a medium to small sized non-union manufacturing plant
  • Experience with implementing Lean culture in a manufacturing environment is required;
  • Preferably Six Sigma greenbelt certified
  • Leads and Drives the OPEX (Operational Excellence) culture in the plant
  • Proficiency in Supply Chain Management
  • Strong technical problem solving skills
  • Customer oriented
  • Advanced management skills

This role has been designated by the Company as Safety Sensitive.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $220,000

Total compensation for this role will include an incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
