SUMMARY
The Export Specialist is responsible for arranging export air/ocean shipments based upon customer requirements and specific instructions. This position provides customer quotes and logistical support as required. The Export Specialist provides on-site training to other employees when necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and processes export air/ocean bills of lading and other required documents.
- Assists in the functional supervision of the Export Agents.
- Expedites and traces the movement of cargo.
- Reviews, interprets and maintains letters of credits.
- Processes export documentation is accordance with L/C instructions.
- Provides rate quotations in compliance with ISO standards.
- Reviews, audits and processes vendor invoices for payment.
- Reviews all vendor invoices for accuracy and processed them for payment.
- Files documentation and all required paperwork.
- Performs all additional duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. ISO 9001 Training is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
