What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment for Non-Profit Organization position at TransAfrican Development Inc.?
We are seeking a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) to provide Community and Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST) to clients, in addition to Psychosocial Rehabilitation Services (PSR). The ideal candidate would be a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or a Psychologist.
We are a Non-Profit Organization focused on serving our community and transforming the lives and stories of adults suffering from various mental ailments. Our goal is to help these people realize that they are more than their illness, and that they can find their position in a loving community again after long periods of institutionalized care. We want to get them back on their feet and we need your help to do so.
Clients are seen on a case-by-case basis, according to their Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).
A direct service provider must be trained, credentialed, and demonstrate competence in the specialized psychotherapy used. The ideal candidate will have competency in at least one of the following:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp)
Additional qualifications required for the role include but are not limited to:
- Prior experience working in the Mental Health/Social Services field (Preferred)
- Acceptable criminal background check and Abuse Registry check.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Adherence to state guidelines and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to understand and be patient/calm with clients in crises.
- Compassionate when carrying out duties.
- Flexibility in work schedule.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Have good interpersonal skills to be able to identify the needs of each individual.
- Three (3) References of Good Character.
Upon employment, potential employee will complete state-required training and obtain the right credentials within 2 weeks.
This is a part-time/contract position with potential to grow.
Compensation is $50/hr.
